Valeda Massey



Valeda Massey (nee Thiel), 88, of Hammonton passed away peacefully on Friday, January 28, 2022.


Born in Scranton, Pa., Val lived in Hammonton for more than 50 years. She formerly worked at Custom Sales and Service and Guarantee Bank in Hammonton. Lover of family and good books.


Val is predeceased by her husband, Harvey T. Massey Jr.; her son, Richard Massey; and her brother, Robert Thiel.


She is survived by her brother, William Thiel (Pat) of Philadelphia; sister-in-law, Linda Thiel; daughters, Margaret Hannah of Hammonton and Donna Manzi (Larry) of Houston, Texas; her sons, David Massey of Warrenville, S.C., Todd Massey of Mays Landing and Paul Massey (Alisha) of Hammonton; daughter-in-law, Lou Ann Massey of Niceville, Fla.; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.


Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Carnesale Funeral Home, 202 S. Third Street in Hammonton, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, 500 N. White Horse Pike in Hammonton.
