William R. Santora



William R. Santora (known to all as Bulldog), 79, of Buena, N.J., died on January 16, 2021.


He was born and raised in Hammonton. Bill was a 1960 graduate of Hammonton High School where he excelled in many sports. He played for the Hammonton Softball League for many years, helping them to a six-year consecutive championship. At a young age, his career started as a truck driver for Coca-Cola. He later continued as a truck driver for Gardiners Express for over 30 years, eventually retiring from Shore Slurry. Aside from his love of watching football, Bulldog enjoyed many years of fishing off the coast of Brigantine Beach, Nags Head North Carolina as well as in the Delaware Bay with his Boston Whaler.


William is predeceased by his parents, Bill and Inez Santora; his brother, Donald (Frenchy); sister-in-law, Rita Santora Porter; and brother-in-law, William LaManna, Sr.


Bulldog was the beloved father of Billy Santora (Nina) of Myrtle Beach, S.C. and Dina Cahill (Tom) of Medford Lakes, N.J. He is the proud “Pop Dog” of Tommy, Hannah, Ryan and Marisa; loving brother of Sandy LaManna; and adored uncle to several nieces and nephews, including the Macrie, LaManna, Mastro, Santora and Clements families. He is also survived and will be missed by his loving cousins and lifetime friends.


There will be no public services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Buena E.M.S., 525 Southwest Blvd, Minotola, NJ 08341.
