Obituary


Charles S. Ballin

Charles S. Ballin, 84, of Folsom, N.J. passed away peacefully Thursday, January 19, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. Charles was born and raised in New Brighton, Pa. and graduated from New Brighton High School. He was a devoted Roman Catholic and was proud of his rich Croatian heritage. He proudly served in the United States Army for 23 years, and was the Recipient of a Purple Heart. During his honorable service, Charles traveled and built a life with his family. Charles retired from the military in 1979 as an E8 First Class Master Sergeant. Charles was a self-employed building contractor and worked for Guerrier Electric for 15 years. He was a past Grand Knight 4th Degree, North American Martyrs Council #8718, and a lifelong member of the NRA.


He is predeceased by his loving wife, Theresa J. Ballin of 46 years; his parents, Mark and Frances (nee Fabyanic) Ballin; his sons, Charles Ballin Jr. and Robert Littleton; and his brothers, Thomas, James, and Andrew Ballin. Charles is survived by his children, Christopher Ballin (Regina), Linda Lyons, and Stephen Ballin (Kathy). He is the loving grandfather “Poppy” of Gabrielle and Christopher Ballin. He will be sadly missed by his companion, Debra Hannah; and multiple grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.


Relatives and friends were invited to attend his viewing Tuesday January 24, 2023 from 6 p.m. -8 p.m. at the Marinella Funeral Home 102 N Third St. Hammonton, N.J. 08037. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, 11:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lakes Church 19 Malaga Rd, Williamstown, N.J. 08094. Cremation will be held privately following the Mass.

Burial with Full Military Honors will be held Saturday January 28, 2023 12 p.m. at Gloucester County Veterans Cemetery 240 N Tuckahoe Rd, Williamstown, N.J. 08094. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Knights of Columbus, North American Martyrs Council #8718 C/O Our Lady of the Lakes Church 19 Malaga Rd, Williamstown, N.J. 08094.
