HAMMONTON—A motor vehicle crash between a school bus and a car was reported on December 4 at 8:57 a.m., Hammonton Police Chief Kevin Friel said.

The two vehicles involved were a 2016 yellow school bus and a 1998 Ford Mustang, Friel said.

The bus was traveling westbound on the White Horse Pike (Route 30) and the Mustang was traveling eastbound on Route 30 past the intersection of Fairview Avenue (Route 678), Friel said.

“It appears that the bus believed that there was enough time to make the left-hand turn onto Fairview Avenue and began to make the left-hand turn, causing vehicle two [the Mustang] to make the impact with vehicle one,” Friel said.

There were no children on the bus, Friel said, just the driver and the bus aide.

The driver of the Mustang was injured, and was taken by ambulance by Virtua Voorhees, Friel said.

Frances Bisignano, 85, of Egg Harbor City, was the driver of the bus, Friel said. The driver of the Mustang was Charles Tomasello, 53, of Hammonton, Friel said.

The driver of the bus was issued a citation for failing to yield right-of-way at intersection, Friel said.
