Steven L. Lewis, 68, of Elm passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at Crystal Lake Healthcare & Rehabilitation in Berkeley Township, N.J.
Born in Upper Darby, Pa. he was a longtime resident of the Hammonton and Elm area. He was a proud U.S. Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War. Steve worked for many years in the irrigation business. He worked for Irrigation Unlimited, Aqua Flo, Century Rain and John Deere Landscape all in Hammonton. He installed computerized irrigation systems at many golf courses in the United States including Pine Valley and golf courses in Bermuda. He enjoyed golfing, boating, flying remote controlled airplanes, driving dune buggies and learning how to fly airplanes with his flight instructor. He enjoyed his times at Taildragger Inn by the Hammonton Airport with Barry Straga, and he was a member of the Sons of Italy Lodge No. 1658 in Hammonton.
Steve is survived by his wife, Terry A. Lewis (nee Ford); three brothers, Frank Lewis, Larry Lewis and David Lewis; one sister, Nancy Lewis Renfrew; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Leon and Betty Ford, Robert and Debbie Ford, Shirley and Joseph Grasso, and Lynne and Sam Presti; and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Carnesale Funeral Home, 202 S. Third Street in Hammonton, where funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hammonton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, 446 S. Egg Harbor Road, Hammonton, NJ 08037 or the American Red Cross, PO Box 37839, Boone, IA 50037-0839.
